AIRPORT

Warsaw Chopin Airport (Polish: Lotnisko Chopina w Warszawie) is located in the south-west part of Warsaw, approximately 10km from the city center.

When hiring a taxi at the airport, please do not accept unauthorised services offered by touts in the arrival hall. There is an official taxi rank right outside the arrivals served by three companies endorsed by the airport: ELE SKY Taxi, SUPER Taxi, and SAWA Taxi.

For public transport options from the airport see www.ztm.waw.pl . The city center is served by bus 175 during day and N32 at night. A single fare is 2.80 PLN. Tickets should be bought from a newsagent before boarding a bus and validated immidiately after boarding.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Warsaw's municipal transport consists of trams, city buses, suburban buses and the underground (metro).

The tickets can be bought in kiosks, ticket machines located at stops or you can buy them directly from drivers (though the first two options are prefered). Single fare tickets, time-limit tickets and short-term tickets are sold on a carrier in a form of a paper card with a magnetic strip. Long-term tickets are coded on Warszawska Karta Miejska (Warsaw City Card). More information can be found here. The tickets must be validated in the bus/tram/metro; if you are using time-limit tickets only one validation of the ticket is neccessary.
To get from the airport and around the city center, the 1-zone tickets will be sufficient. One-day and three-day tickets are available (valid for all means of transportation).
